**Introduction**

The Center of Chiral Biophotonics (CCB) of the School of Biomedicine comprises two scientific laboratories: 'Supercomputer simulations of the complex systems (SSCS)' (headed by Dr. V.G. Bornyakov) and 'Physics of living matter (PLM)' (headed by prof. A.V. Molochkov).

The Group was organized in 2013. It has close ties to the ITEP Lattice Group created by late prof. V.I. Polikarpov around 1980 (see lattice.itep.ru) and now headed by V.V. Braguta.

The GCM has the following main directions of research:

- Protein Modeling: Numerical simulations of the protein folding (PM project).
- Numerical simulations of lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) – theory of strong interactions of elementary particles (LQCD projects).
- Aplication of the quantum field theory methods to the numerical simulations of the nanomaterials: graphene, Dirac semimetals, Weyl semimetals (Nano projects).

PM project is devoted to application of the mathematical physics methods to solving the problem of the protein folding. It is developed in collaboration with prof. A. Niemi (Tours University, Uppsala University, Beijing Institute of Technology and FEFU) and prof. M. Chernodub (Tours University and FEFU).

LQCD1 project is devoted to study of the new recently discovered state of matter – quark-gluon plasma. It is developed under leadership of prof. A. Nakamura (FEFU) and in close collaboration with the ITEP Lattice Group.

LQCD2 project is devoted to QCD phenomenology theoretical studies which are of great importance for experimental studies in the high energy physics, in particular on LHC at CERN.

It is developed in collaboration with world-leading QCDSF international collaboration headed by prof. G. Schierholz and with the ITEP Lattice Group.

Nano project is devoted to numerical simulations of graphene and Dirac semimetals properties with methods developed in studies of the lattice QCD. It is developed in collaboration with the ITEP Lattice Group.
